Few in Britain today would dispute the fact that Anya Hindmarch, 43, is the ‘queen of handbags’. She is the owner of the Anya Hindmarch label with an estimated turnover of £30 million , and stores in 19 different countries. Hindmarch has an impressive CV: a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE), non-executive board member of the British Fashion Council, British Fashion Awards’ Designer of the Year 2007, a trustee of the Royal Academy of Arts, and the Design Museum, the mother of five children, and, also notably, a close friend of the current Prime Minister, David Cameron, and his wife, Samantha.

Tipped to become one of British TV’s most popular programmes, The Model Agency, a seven-part documentary series commencing soon, will hone in on the daily lives of models, their bookers, the photographers, designers, makeup artists, hairdressers, stylists, and, not least, agency owners. Step forward siblings Chris Owen and Carole White who know all about models and the model industry: in 1981, they established their model agency Premier Model Management, and later represented a whole host of famous supermodels – Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Claudia Schiffer, and Linda Evangelista. And on their books today they have models, both new and established, from all over the world, as well as actors (Lucy Liu), musicians (Sophie Ellis-Bextor) and socialites such as Nicky Hilton. The Model Agency takes a behind-the-scenes look at all the work that goes on before a stunning model goes sashaying out onto the catwalk during a fashion week, and tells how the perfect Prince Charming is found to suavely splash on a new fragrance (or just look gorgeous in underwear).

The founders of fashion label Felder Felder, identical twins Annette and Daniela Felder are all geared up to meet discerning critics, journalists, and buyers attending upcoming London Fashion Week head-on. The designers have already had copious experience working in the fashion industry, including numerous projects with world-famous brands, and their collections have always been famously fun and sexy. Straight after graduating from legendary Central Saint Martins in 2006, the Felder sisters were given the honour of participating in New York Couture Fashion Week, and buoyed up by their American success, they returned to the British capital to found their fashion label Felder Felder.

The 39-year-old English designer shot to fame after his scarves and beaded bags caught the attention of the three supermodels Kate Moss, Helena Christensen and Amber Valletta. Matthew was then inspired to launch his own clothes label which he went on strategically developing while also taking over as creative director at Pucci, and launching his own perfume range. The designer whose collections have always been known for their vibrant colours, continues to move into new areas: for the new season he debuted his first collection of bags. We met up to discuss fashion trends in general, and those of the Matthew Williamson label in particular.
